Devious Journal Entry

Sun Oct 11, 2009, 9:12 PM
Okay, sometimes you stumble across something that is so freaking awesome you just want to share it with the WHOLE WORLD. Having said that, I'll start out by stating that Scribblenauts is pretty freaking awesome and if you don't know what it is, go find out, google "post 217", wutever, (then buy it and come back). Anyways, it is story time.

I was actually reading the thread aforementioned thread was in for fun, although I already own and have beaten the game, just to see people's impressions and interesting ideas and words I hadn't thought of before. Late in the thread, someone pointed out versatile some words could be and were wondering how the game would handle them. An example he gave was "card", which obviously has lots of possible definitions. Since I was reading it with the game right next to me for exactly this purpose, I picked it up and typed it in. A playing card appeared, the ace of hearts to be exact.

"Well, that's neat," I decided. While the game does sometimes allow for homonyms and will ask you to specify, I didn't feel particularly disappointed that it didn't ask if I meant "Card (business)" or whatever. However, now that I had it, I wanted to play with it somehow. I was on the title screen so free range was the rule. "Okay, what would be interested in a playing card? Hm, maybe... an ace?" You know me, I play too much PW. Anyway, that conjured up a pilot. "Okay, that was probably too obscure. How about uhhh... What's the term? ';Poker head'?" That got me an actual head. Oops. Tossed that in the trash. "Oh wait, I know! 'Gambler'!"

...He looked like a hobo (same sprite, I know because that was one of the first words I tried lol). A hobo with a blue beanie, stubble and slightly spiky (brown) hair.

I about died and had to close the DS for danger of too much laughter.

After reading a bit more and calming down, I couldn't resist the temptation and picked the game back up again. Now, the gambler was just ignoring the card, which was kind of disappointing, but oh well. Maybe I could get him to react to something else. Feeling more than a bit mischievous, I typed in "magician". Ignored. Trashed. "Lawyer?" Same thing. Well, okay... One last thing then... "Badge."

He POUNCED on it!! The "Ace" (who I'd almost forgotten about since she was off-screen while I was experimenting) pounced at the same time but the gambler won!!!

THE HOBO GAMBLER POUNCED ON THE BADGE.

If that gambler is not an Ace Attorney reference, I don't know what is. This game gets x3 awesome modifier. Note that that is TIMES not PLUS. And it was already really freaking awesome.

The end.

(PS: After some more fiddling around, I accidentally discovered that "musician" also picks up the badge. :XD: So did "guitarist" and "lawyer". (And "policeman", but duh.) As controls of a sort, "girl", "guy", "spy" and "werewolf" didn't give a shit about it. :XD: (But throwing silver at the werewolf turned him into a man, who then decided to keep it for himself. :XD:))

Dragoness! How are you? I haven't spoken to you in ages. I miss ya! :) I've started writing a new fanfic, but I don't know what the heck is going to come of it. XD Who knows. I might just be going temporarily insnne. Anyway, I haven't been here on DA for a million years, so I'm gonna go check out your artwork now. ^^

Spook! :D Omg new fanfic!? Seriously? Is it Pokemon?

I'm only on DA for like twice a year lol, so I understand where you're coming from. But yay arts, yay fanfics~
:iconjessie-kad:
Yeah, it's totally Pokemon. :D Every fandom I've gotten involved with since then I can't write for the life of me. I wrote a whole complete scene the other day of Ash being his typical stubborn self and it made me all warm and happy inside. :) I miss it sooooooo much! Heehee. It's a scary story, too!

I'm trying to start posting actively at DA again...let's see how this goes. ^^;

Coolies. Well if you put it up on FFN I might actually have to go visit that place again. I've actually written stuff but it wasn't Pokemon so I didn't bother putting it up there... I dunno if anyone would read it.

I don’t believe that intelligence can be accurately quantified, but I do have an IQ of 187, an eidetic memory and can read 20,000 words per minute. [gets a weird look] Yes, I’m a genius.

If you find that me talking to myself is strange, then you'll get a pleasant surprise when the voices start talking back.
